It is with great sadness that we have been informed that Mr. Ottonel Popesco passed away unexpectedly.
The Terminal Industry Committee 4.0 (TIC4.0) Association and our members would like to express their sincere condolences and deepest sympathies to Ottonel’s family, friends, and colleagues.
Ottonel was a member of the TIC4.0 Executive Council. As president of the Port Equipment Manufacturers Association (PEMA), he was one of the main enablers of the TIC4.0 vision. He has supported the founding of our association from the very first moment the idea of developing industry standards in a collaborative set-up was proposed.
He was a dedicated and passionate professional, who had a clear vision of what he wanted to achieve in our industry. His wisdom and broad experience have always been a good guidance to the TIC4.0 association.
