Building on previous work on real-time Digital Twins and semantic interoperability within the TIC4.0 framework, this publication shifts the focus from how Digital Twins are built to how they can be classified and compared across different operational contexts. By focusing on typology and comparability, the paper provides a practical foundation for scalable and collaborative Digital Twin development in the maritime and port sector.
